Remembering Carlos

Meet Carlos “Chatito.”

Carlos was known as Chatito. He had a smile that people remembered, a sense of humor that could make people laugh, and a way of making others feel welcome.

He loved being outdoors, playing football with neighbors, riding his bike with friends, and talking to people. He did not care about age differences—he wanted to befriend everyone.

He was respectful, warm, funny, and quick with a comeback. His family wants the world to know who Carlos was and to carry his light forward by helping other young people know they have people who care about them.

“His smile lives on through the love, awareness, and hope we share with others.”
Why We Exist

Turning grief into awareness, connection, and hope.

The Chatito Project is focused on youth suicide prevention and awareness. We want young people to feel safe speaking up and families and communities to recognize the importance of listening, kindness, connection, and support.

💙

Speak Up

Encourage young people to talk to a trusted adult, friend, counselor, teacher, or family member when something feels too heavy to carry alone.

💛

Listen & Connect

Remind families and communities that listening without judgment can make a meaningful difference.

❤️

Spread Hope

Build a culture where children know they are loved, they matter, and asking for help is a sign of strength—not a burden.
